Lynn's Story
A student, Lynn, has a complicated family and her mother has remarried several times. When she was five years old, her aunt saw her being abused so bought her for $1,000, changing her name to become her own daughter. But when the aunt and uncle left for Thailand to make a living, Lynn returned to a situation where she was left unattended. Lynn became one of the first students to receive sponsorship at Pleroma School of Girls along with her sister. Lynn was a rebel, a survivor of domestic violence and human trafficking, which made her very paranoid. She was absent from school in the third grade, and after much investigation by her teachers, they learned that she had run away to a strange place far away from home. When she was in fourth grade, she stole money from a teacher at the Pleroma Community Center during a Saturday activity. After many conversations, she admitted her faults and experienced acceptance from God and her teachers.
Throughout the years, Lynn has reformed and become a young leader among the students under the careful guidance of her teachers. Lynn is now a fifth grader and has written two letters to thank her teachers for their love and teaching.
