SCM Prayer letter April 2026

Social Concern Ministry

Please pray for Cambodia. Due to the instability of the international situation and the impact of war, rising energy prices have caused the cost of living to increase continuously. For instance, the price of natural gas for household use has surged from approximately $15 for a 15-kilogram cylinder to about $38. Many families are facing significant economic pressure, and this situation places a particularly heavy burden on low-income households.

We pray that God, in His mercy, will bring an end to the conflicts and restore global stability. We also ask Him to remember the needs of grassroots families in Cambodia, providing for their daily necessities so that, even amidst these difficulties, they may experience the Lord’s care and grace.

Pleroma Schools for Girls

Thanksgiving:

  1. We thank God for His guidance; the first-semester examinations for the secondary school have been successfully completed, and the grade reports for the 9th and 12th grades were accurately submitted to the Department of Education. We are truly grateful that the entire process proceeded smoothly.
  2. We thank God for preparing better spaces for learning and activities for the primary school. With the removal of the perimeter wall, students now have a more spacious area for activities and play, which contributes to their healthy physical and emotional development.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Please pray for the secondary school’s Parents’ Day. We ask God to foster good communication and mutual understanding between teachers and parents, and to move the parents’ hearts to consistently pay tuition fees, thereby joining together to support their children’s education.
  2. Please pray for three upcoming events: the Easter Celebration, the Cambodian New Year Celebration, and Environmental Day. We ask God to ensure that these events proceed smoothly and safely, allowing both teachers and students to experience joy and unity throughout the process.
  3. Please pray for the needs of our students, particularly those who are currently facing difficulties in their family lives or interpersonal relationships (especially those in the 12th grade). We ask the Lord to grant them peace and strength, helping them to develop self-management skills and to approach life with a more positive and constructive attitude.
  4. Recently, a physical altercation occurred between two 12th-grade students. Please pray regarding this incident, asking God to grant wisdom to the school social worker so that appropriate follow-up measures may be taken, and to bring healing to the emotional wounds and distress of both students, allowing their relationship to be gradually restored.
Girl’s Home: A Family That Experienced Relational Restoration and Reconciliation

Pleroma Home for Girls & Pleroma Women Ministry

Thanksgiving:

  1. We give thanks for God’s guidance; at the “Girl’s Home,” we have witnessed cases where family relationships have undergone restoration and reconciliation, allowing for the re-establishment of acceptance and connection—for this, we are truly grateful.
  2. We thank God for paving the way for our women’s ministry, enabling our team to collaborate with the Department of Education in Kampong Speu Province and a local church in Phnom Penh. Together, we promoted training and awareness education regarding child protection among students and the church community; these activities were completed successfully, and the participants responded most positively.

Prayer request:

  1. Please pray for the staff members’ time of retreat and rest; ask God to grant them renewal and restoration amidst their busy ministry, to deepen their connections within the team, and to empower them anew in the Spirit.
  2. Please pray for the girls’ time at home with their families during the Cambodian New Year, as well as for the associated home visits and arrangements for material support; ask the Lord to keep them safe and to enable them to experience warmth and relational healing during their time with their families. Please offer special prayer for two girls who are scheduled to meet with their fathers and other family members, asking God to prepare a truly blessed time for them.
  3. Please pray for the training and outreach initiatives of the Women’s Ministry (including child protection and mental health education); ask God to use these programs to bless both the students and the teachers, granting smooth arrangements and fruitful learning outcomes.
  4. Please pray for the staff members as they follow up on various cases and handle referrals (including coordination with government agencies); ask God to grant them wisdom and sensitivity, ensuring that every decision is appropriate and that they are able to respond flexibly to diverse situations.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Please pray for our Easter celebrations, asking God to help us reflect once again on the glory of His resurrection. May He remind us that with Him, nothing is impossible, and empower us to carry this hope into our classrooms and homes, using love to positively impact those around us.
  2. Please pray for our Cambodian New Year celebrations, asking God to fill the entire event with an atmosphere of joy and festivity. May He grant the teachers thorough preparation so that everything proceeds smoothly.
  3. Please pray for the Cambodian New Year period itself, asking God to bless every family and community with wonderful times of togetherness, and to keep everyone safe as they travel and return to their hometowns.
