SCM Prayer letter January 2026

Pleroma Missions in Cambodia

Thanksgiving:

  1. We thank God for His guidance and protection over the past year. Even amidst turmoil and uncertainty, the entire organization has experienced His presence and provision.
  2. We thank God for His presence with us during the Christmas activities in all units. Teachers, students, staff, children, and all those we serve experienced abundant joy and fulfillment, feeling the Lord’s presence and blessings. In particular, at the secondary school’s Christmas gathering, students were invited to respond to the question: “In this dark and turbulent world, are you willing to walk with Jesus and become a light in the world?” During prayer, many placed their hands on their hearts, expressing their willingness to respond to the Lord and become a light in their lives. We offer our thanks for this.

During Christmas parties, secondary school students responded to the emotions they felt by taking action.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Continue to pray for the situation in Cambodia and Thailand. We thank God, both sides have agreed to a ceasefire and signed new agreements, bringing a slight improvement in the situation. However, many families remain displaced by the conflict and need to temporarily reside in refugee camps; life has not yet returned to normal. We pray that our Lord will personally heal wounded hearts, comfort families who have lost loved ones, provide for all their needs, and grant true and lasting peace. We also pray that the Lord will grant wisdom to leaders of all nations, so that they may consider the lives and well-being of their people.
  2. Pray for the stress and anxiety experienced by all staff, students, and those we serve during this time, asking the Lord to grant them peace, strength, and hope.
  3. Pray for the unity and direction of the organization as a whole, asking the Lord to guide us in the new year to continue faithfully responding to His calling and becoming a blessing in all our ministry.

Pleroma Schools for Girls

Thanksgiving:

  1. We thank God for leading suitable new teachers to the school, becoming a blessing to the students and the campus.
  2. We thank God for personally providing a contractor to repair the sinking secondary school wall free of charge, ensuring the campus quickly returned to safety and allowing us to experience God’s abundant provision.

Teachers perform a Nativity play at a Christmas party; their exaggerated yet engaging performance elicits continuous laughter from the students

Prayer Requests:

  1. Pray for the first semester examinations and the overall arrangements for the new semester, especially remembering the Year 9 and Year 12 students who will be facing public examinations. We ask the Lord to grant wisdom, focus, and peace to the students; and strength and clear guidance to the teachers, so that teaching and preparation can proceed in an orderly and secure manner.
  2. Pray for the insufficient space in the primary school and the expansion plan. We thank God for leading us to take the first step in purchasing the current sports field and completing the initial deposit payment. Further major expenses and related construction needs remain; we ask the Lord to continue to provide according to His will; and to provide clear guidance in finance, engineering arrangements, and overall planning, so that the campus can gradually respond to the actual needs of the students.

Pleroma Home for Girls & Pleroma Women Ministry

Thanksgiving:

  1. We thank God for His gracious hand in guiding and protecting the Girls’ Home and Women’s Ministry over the past year, watching over the safety of children, women, and staff amidst various challenges.
  2. We thank God for enabling girls and women to experience joy and care through outings, learning new things, and the service of short-term mission teams during Christmas.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Pray for the girls, women, and families of staff directly affected by the war. Currently, approximately 35% of active clients and 17% of former clients’ families are affected by the war. We ask the Lord to protect their safety, provide for their needs, and grant them peace and strength amidst the turmoil.
  2. Pray for the new cases we will be receiving, asking God to personally guide them so that women truly in need are identified and receive appropriate and sustained support in the new year.
  3. Pray for the staff’s annual reflection and team leadership, asking the Lord to grant wisdom and renewal so that the team can continue to build life and bear fruit in unity and joy.

Pleroma Community Center

Thanksgiving:

We thank God for His guidance of the community center this year, especially for His swift provision of the necessary funds, enabling the expansion project to commence. We offer our deepest gratitude for God’s abundant and timely provision.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Pray for the expansion project of the community center, asking God to personally protect the entire project and ensure its smooth progress, providing grace in terms of scheduling, construction, and coordination, so that the project can be completed without disrupting students’ classes and daily operations. We also ask that the Lord’s grace be bestowed upon all related arrangements, ensuring that every step proceeds smoothly and orderly.
  2. Pray for the upcoming weekend outing, asking the Lord to provide a suitable and safe location, guide the entire preparation process, and ensure the smooth running of the event, allowing students to experience joy and growth.
