SCM Prayer letter August 2025

Social Concern Ministry

Thanksgiving:

• Although there have been news of conflicts in the domestic border areas of Cambodia recently, the cities and ministries we live in are still protected by God, and life and service are safe and orderly. This peace and security is God’s grace.

Prayer requests:

1. Pray for the situation in the border areas between Cambodia and Thailand, and ask the Lord to mercy on the local residents, stop conflicts, and bring true peace and stability.
2. Interrogate to colleagues and students who live in the border areas of family members or relatives and friends. May God personally take care of their relatives and comfort their worries.
3. Pray for the members who are still on the short-term journey during this sensitive period. Although the service is safe, the overall situation may still be unsettling. May God strengthen their faith and give them peace and courage that comes from Him; and comfort the family who care about them from afar. May the Lord keep them safe both physically, mentally and spiritually, and experience God’s presence and joy in service.

Pleroma Schools for Girls:

Thanksgiving:

1. Thank God, 95% of the students in the ninth grade of the middle school successfully passed the national diploma exam, and their results were encouraging.
2. Thank God, we have successfully hired new administrative assistants to bring immediate help and support to the heavy work.
3. The competition in the primary school was successfully completed, and the students and teachers were devoted to showing team spirit and creativity.

Prayer requests:

1. Pray for the 12th graders of high school to take the national exam from August 18-19, may they have the wisdom, peace and faith from God.
2. Please prepare for three important activities: Primary School Parent Day on August 20, Middle School Parent Meeting on August 22 and graduation ceremony on August 26. Pray for everything goes well and all staff work together.
3. For the first time, students in the sixth grade of primary school will take the standardized tests stipulated by the Ministry of Education, asking God to help teachers and students adapt to the new requirements, face them safely and smoothly.
4. As the school year is approaching, teachers and staff are busy with affairs. Please give God the moment of strength and quiet so that they can still experience His grace and reminder while they are busy.
5. Ask God to prepare suitable Chinese teachers, the school is still looking for suitable co-workers to join the team.

Pleroma Home for Girls & Pleroma Women Ministry:

Thanksgiving：

1. A woman in the Women’s Ministry who is determined to be baptized in the Lord and is willing to die and live with the Lord, and become a witness to the renewal of life. The two girls from Girl’s House also successfully passed the ninth grade national diploma exam and were grateful for their efforts and growth.
2. Thank God for preparing new homes and places and facilities required in the tutoring space, and protecting the physical, mental and spiritual health of colleagues, and not getting tired during daily service.

Prayer requests:

1. Ask God to continue healing and restoring the girls and women we serve, so that they can recover from trauma and regain their values and directions.
2. Pray for a girl who is about to report the case to the police, wishing the whole process safe, supportive, fearless, and to experience God’s justice and healing.
3. Please help the girls who move into the new house to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible, and to experience a sense of stability and security in body and mind.
4. Pray for colleagues and social workers who often go out to the province to serve, and ask the Lord to give wisdom and keep the road safe, so that every visit can become a bridge of blessing.
   

   

Pleroma Community Center:

Thanksgiving:

• Thank God, the PCC Got Talent activity was successfully completed, with ideal weather and enthusiastic participation, and the whole process was filled with joy and blessings.

Prayer requests:

1. The kindergarten will conduct final exams in the first week of August. Pray that children will have concentration and wisdom, grow up healthily in love and play their strengths.
2. Prepare for the school “Closing Day” which is held on August 24. There will be a kindergarten graduation ceremony that morning and a weekend party in the afternoon. Please pray our Lord keeps the process smooth and the grace is overflowing.
3. Ask all colleagues and students in the center to protect the physical and mental health of God, and experience the peace and conservatism of the Lord in all kinds of service and learning.
