Full of Grace and Truth (December, 2015)

Dear supporters of Pleroma Missions in Cambodia:

“In the beginning was the Word … The Word became flesh and dwell among us … full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)   “Word”, is such an abstract concept and so difficult to fathom!   Yet, the Word was concretized by Jesus became flesh and “pitched a tent” among us -gloriously full of grace and truth!  This is indeed the core meaning of Christmas!  The hope and comfort brought by the birth of our savior is indeed the true light that shines into this increasingly brutal and evil generation!

The Word made flesh and dwell among us, teaches us how to connect with the culture and the world we are living in:  Jesus does not stand against culture, nor does he stand in conformity to culture.  Instead, he shows us his social stance by identifying himself at all time with the suffering of the world – stands in solidarity with the poor, the excluded, the outsider, the sinner, the oppressed, the exploited, and the bruised.  Thus, he consistently lives out his anointed mission of incarnation, “to proclaim good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18) – indeed, full of grace and truth!!   “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world” (John 17:18).  Hence, living out grace and proclaiming truth is the mission Jesus has entrusted to us as well.

PSG Foundation Stone

With the heart and spirit exemplified by Jesus, Fullness in Christ Fellowship responded to his call of “similarly sent into the world”.  FiCF started this Pleroma Missions in Cambodia (PMC) in 2010 to minister to the sexually violated and exploited underage victims.  With “Full of Grace and Truth” as our runway and route, we launched out the three projects, “Pleroma Home for Girls”, “Pleroma School for Girls”, and “Pleroma Women Center”.

October 1, 2015 was our first day of class of Pleroma School for Girls upon its completion of construction – an historical moment for our PMC.  Our Foundation Stone is, “This school is dedicated to empowering girls, to grow in knowledge and godly wisdom, to become channels of blessing to family, church and society”.  With our School Motto and School Song (Click here for music and lyrics), “Full of Grace and Truth”, our prayer is that, we are able to impact our students and community by concretely exemplifying “full of grace and truth”.

In thanksgiving to our Lord, and appreciation to our Field Director and missionary, Debbie Choy, for leading the construction, we would like to extend our gratitude to:

School Construction Committee: Debbie Choy (Chair); Dorcas Wong; Lily Lee

Technical Advisory Team: Philip Yu, Dorcas Wong, Wai-Tai Law, Florence Wong, Simon Kwok, Daniel So

2015 is indeed a year full of heavenly blessing and uplifting surprises.  In order to thank God for his amazing grace, we would like to set aside March 8, 2016, to celebrate with a School Dedication Ceremony.  Together with the local churches, and supporters from Hong Kong and the USA, we would get together and pray for God’s continual blessing and guidance for our students and staff in Pleroma School for Girls in Cambodia.

In appreciation to your prayer and financial support in the past years, we have published a 2016 Pray for Cambodia Calendar, downloadable here.  We thank our photographer and producer, Susanna Fan, for taking these beautiful and exquisite pictures, and designing this thoughtful monthly prayer guide.  We pray that the saving grace of Jesus Christ will be richly showered upon the 14 million souls in this beautiful and ancient land.

Our total budget for the three projects, Pleroma Home for Girls, Pleroma School for Girls, and Pleroma Women Center, will be US$420,000 for 2016.  We sincerely invite you to continue to partner with us and support us financially, so that these precious girls will be able to receive timely and long-term help in the years to come.   We thank you in our Lord Jesus Christ for your generous help!
